What is Neurogether?
A nonprofit built for founders who are trying to make care better.
Healthcare startups face a long road: clinical evidence, regulation, hospital sales cycles, and capital that often arrives too late. Many strong teams stall before they ever reach patients.
Headquartered in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Neurogether Ventures Foundations exists to give those teams a serious first chance through pitch competitions, mentorship, and a network of people who understand both medicine and company building.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, not a venture fund. Our job is to accelerate teams whose work could improve health, not to take a stake in the outcome.
Why this work is needed
Good healthcare ideas should not die for lack of a first stage.
Early-stage healthcare companies sit in a difficult gap. Traditional grants often favor academic labs, while traditional investors tend to favor software companies with shorter sales cycles. In between are clinicians with promising products and engineers working with clinical partners—founders who need a place to pitch, be evaluated fairly, and leave with more than applause.
That is why we run competitions. A structured pitch, a qualified panel, and a path to support give startups a clear next step, and give the community a way to see who is building the future of care.

Winners receive funding and introductions. Every finalist leaves with feedback they can use on the next raise or the next pilot.

We connect startups with hospitals, mentors, and one another. Healthcare is hard to build alone.
How we work
Pitch competitions are our flagship.
Teams apply, a review panel selects finalists, and founders pitch in person. Judges score the companies. There is no public or online vote. Awards are decided by the panel.
Selected startups receive funding and practical help: introductions to clinicians, operators, and people who have already walked the path from prototype to pilot.
